The Best of my Disney College Program

I had a lot of amazing moments during my Disney College Program, but there were some that topped the others. If I could go back and relive these days, I would over and over. I miss my program more than anything.

Halloween Party

My roommate and our mutual friend and I bought tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and decided to dress up as everyone's favorite Neverlanders. I went as Tinkerbell, with a costume that looked identical to Tink’s old meet and greet outfit. We planned our day around the character meets, and gathering treats. I can't tell you how many times we got stopped and asked for pictures. Disney has a big rule about pretending to be characters, so we shut it down, but we were very flattered that we looked so similar. The night was filled with fun and Tink, Wendy, and Peter loved our outfits!

Late Nights

One night after a very long, exhausting shift, I came home to my roommate and about 8 of her friends in our living room. I was taken aback by the crowd, and was asked to hang out with them. After explaining I wanted to go to bed, I ended up being convinced to stay and hang out; I couldn't sleep anyway because of the noise. I invited a good friend of mine over, and he joined me among the crowd of strangers. After everyone left, it was really late. My friend and I ended up staying up on the floor talking for 3 more hours. We really got to know each other, and it was really awesome to have my night turn into something unexpected.

Riviera Visit

Another one of my favorite moments of my program was when I spontaneously visited the new Riviera Resort after a shift. Some friends came to visit me at work, and we decided to go, so I found some clothes I had in my car and we went. When we got there, we were met with Donald Duck in the lobby. He had no line, so obviously we went up and met him. When I hugged him, he held me. He rubbed my back, patted my head, and just held me until I let go. At this moment, I felt like Donald knew my program was ending soon, and that I was sad. I needed his embrace and it made me tear up. I talked about it for the rest of the night, and it's one of my most memorable character encounters.
